What Versusbrief stores, why, who processes it, and for how long. Last updated 27 September 2026.

Versusbrief is the MCP connector and website at versusbrief.com. Questions and deletion requests go to Support. There is no phone number.

What we store

• Your account. Your email address, your plan, the credit ledger (every grant, charge and refund), and the brands you use each month with the client website tied to each.
• Keys and sign-ins. API keys and sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes. A new key is shown once, and its reveal link stops working after an hour.
• What you ask for. The competitor domains, countries, cities and client websites you pass to the tools, and the reports built from them. Reports include short quotes from public Google reviews and are kept for the life of the report, until you ask us to delete it.
• Exports. CSV files you generate, deleted after 7 days.
• Free-teardown form. Your email and the competitor domain.
• Support messages. Your email, the topic and your message.
• Usage. Page views (path, referrer without its query string, utm_source, and a first-party cookie, visitor_id) and tool calls (tool, credits, data cost, duration and your account id). Usage records never hold your raw email.
• Abuse limits. A hash of your IP address, kept for at most an hour.

Why

To run the service you signed up for: authenticate you, count credits, build and show reports, and reply to support. Page views and tool calls tell us whether the product works. The free-teardown email is kept because you asked us to send the report.

Who processes it

• OpenAI: review themes, draft ad lines and report summaries. It receives review text and report numbers, never your email.
• DataForSEO: keywords, search results, backlinks and public Google reviews. It receives competitor domains, keywords and business names.
• SerpApi: Google Ads Transparency. It receives competitor domains and business names.
• Google PageSpeed Insights: page speed. It receives the competitor’s page address.
• Meta Ad Library API: Meta ads, EU/UK only. It receives the competitor’s business name.
• Stripe: card payments and the billing portal. Stripe holds the card; we never see it.
• Hetzner (hosting, Germany) and Cloudflare (DNS only).

How long

• Account email, ledger and brands: while the account is open. Deleted within 30 days of a request to support, except billing records the law requires us to keep.
• Reports: until you ask us to delete them.
• Exports: 7 days. Cached public competitor data: 24 hours.
• Free-teardown email with no account: removed after 90 days. A hash of the address can remain so the same request is not opened twice.
• Support messages: 12 months.

What we never store

• The name, photo, or profile of a review author.
• Access to your ad account. Versusbrief does not connect to one.
• Card numbers.
• A raw IP address.
